One would never think that the area between Kosovo, Albania and North Macedonia provides magnificent mountain landscapes and secluded villages between two historical cities of Prizren and Ohrid. A turbulent region once, now offers the perfect ground for High Scardus Trail, a long-distance hiking trail that connects three countries and which has plenty to offer. The area is home to rich cultural diversity and wild natural landscapes. Little to no touristic infrastructure, it offers originality and authenticity that has become very rare. In this tour we aim to bring together our favorite stages combined with our favourite city along the trail.
Nine days of our tour include trekking the first 7 stages of High Scardus Trail crossing in Kosovo and Macedonia. The first stages of High Scardus Trail included in this tour are our favourites; a combination of various terrain, languages and culture. This guided tour will explore the most attractive parts of Sharr Mountains without losing much altitude with overnight in villages as close to the trail as it can get. And as an additional highlight, you can get a deep insight of Prizren, the cultural capital of Kosovo with a beautiful old town and a melting pot of cultures, during a rest day in between.

Day 1
Arrival Prishtina Airport (KOS) and Trekking: Shuttle to Staro Selo (MKD); Accommodation: Mountain Hut (MKD) - High Scardus Stage 1.
Walking time: 2 h 45 min | length: 8.7km | ascent: 732 m. Possible to also summit Ljuboten the same day
Day 2
Trekking: High Scardus Trail Stage 2 Mountain Hut Ljuboten – Brezovica; Accommodation: Hotel (KOS)
Walking time: 6 h | length: 12.1 km | ascent: 823 m | descent: 721 m
Day 3
Trekking: High Scardus Trail Stage 3 Brezovica – Prevalla; Accommodation: Hotel (KOS)
Walking time: 7 h | length: 14.3 km | ascent: 840 m | descent: 1,050 m. Stage can be shortened if required
Transfer time: 40 min
Day 4
Culture: Cultural and Historical Tour of Prizren. Lunch and dinner. Accommodation: Hotel (KOS)

Trekking: Transfer to starting point; High Scardus Trail Stage 4 Prevalla – Gornje Ljubinje; Accommodation: Guesthouse (KOS)

- 4x Accommodations in selected middle class hotels (*** national categorization); double room with full board
- 4x Overnight stays in family-run guesthouses, mountain huts, refuges or alpine pastures; double or multi-bed rooms with full board

- Guided tour by experienced local English-speaking guides with excellent knowledge of the country and its people (one guide per country; certified according to the guidelines of the respective country; co-developer of the High Scardus Trail)
